State of Emergency and Our Freedom

 
On April 13, 2020, Constitutional Law Specialist Vakhushti Menabde held an online meeting for students of Ozurgeti, Chokhatauri and Tbilisi Leaders' School on the topic: "State of Emergency and Our Freedom."
The meeting focused on the situation in the country and the state of emergency, what is its significance, when it is announced by the government and what regulations are set by the Constitution. It was discussed which rights could be restricted during the state of emergency and which could not. The conversation focused on the time of the commandant and its purpose, as well as the extent to which homeless people are provided with decent living conditions during this period of time and whether they have the opportunity to fulfill their obligations under the law. At the end of the meeting, the shortcomings of the Constitution, which are reflected in the crisis situations in the country, were discussed.
