Working meeting

On February 23, 2022, members of the Guria Partner Laboratory of Ideas and Entrepreneurship in Guria, a partner of the Young Pedagogues Union, met with Giorgi Urushadze, State Representative in the Guria Region, and Avtandil Talakvadze, Mayor of Ozurgeti Municipality.
Problems identified by adolescents in their own community and schools were discussed at the workshop. Attention was paid to the problems of sports infrastructure rehabilitation (indoor and outdoor sports fields), lack of educational resources, dismantling of useless half-ruined buildings near the school and its surrounding areas, disordered bathrooms, the need for gasification, faulty school infrastructure.
The teens focused on issues related to faulty roads in the villages, drinking water and stray dogs breeding in school areas.
The governor of the province and the mayor of the municipality expressed the support of the teenagers in the process of resolving specific issues. They discussed in detail the prospects or possible barriers to resolving each issue. The conversation focused on concrete actions regarding the deadlines for solving the submitted problems.
Adolescent activities are funded by the European Union (EU) and Bread for the World (Brot) within the framework of the project "Skills Building and Innovative Job Opportunities for Regional Development of Georgia", implemented by the Georgian Strategic Center for Research and Development (CSRDG), together with the Young Teachers Union (YPU) and the Georgian Civic Development Association (GCDA).
